Maracas Beach - Trinidad

These photos were taken in 2009 using a Casio point and shoot. I didn't have a fancy smartphone or DSLR at that time. Maracas beach or bay is located on the North coast of Trinidad. The drive to Maracas over the hills is calming and breezy with mountain vegetation and at times you can see the sea. Stop out at the famous Maracas lookout to take photos and indulge in the local preserves being sold. You cannot leave Maracas beach without eating one or more bake and shark and you will crave one when you get home so buy extras. If you are vegetarian like me then maybe try the bake with just the toppings and sauces.

Bird Photography in Trinidad and Tobago

So I started walking with my old (8+ years) point and zoom Nikon P90 in my knapsack when I go long distance walking. Sharpness, detail and colours will be lacking but I can still hone my skills. There are some areas I pass where I can catch sight of birds. I am amateur at birding and it has been on and off for me and I seem to have lost my Birds of Trinidad and Tobago  book (I had an older edition I bought in Nigel R Khan Tobago). Birds are majestic and make interesting subjects for photographing. Here are some recent shots I took. One to ten

I am a minimalist. I believe in quality over quantity. I believe that less is more. I believe that there is beauty in the simple. I had gotten up early one morning and I stumbled upon "minimalism photography" on facebook and decided that this is something I wanted to take part in. Today is Sunday the tenth of December. I am spending the morning taking ten photos that will form part of this exhibition. This exhibition is called "one to ten" and the fascinating thing to me that I noticed was that one ends with "ne" and ten ends with "ne" in reverse and the starting letters "t" and "o" form "to" which fits nicely in the middle of "one to ten". There are ten characters in the phrase "one to ten" and the distinct letters make up the word "note" which leads me to say, "numbers are the notes of nature".
